The Hosmer Power House
Limited Edition of 500 11x14 prints: $15.00 each + $3.00 Shipping
The remains of this awesome building was once an integral part of the Hosmer Mine Site which operated from 1908 to 1914. The Power House took the steam generated in the Boiler House (this building still exists) to supply power to the Hosmer Town Site. This was a 'state of the art' feature and certainly attracted miners and their families to this new mining community.
In 1914, the mine was closed down for ever, so naturally the electricity to the townsite was shut off as well. In no time at all, all the mining folks and their families left Hosmer to pursue work elsewhere. Hosmer became a Ghost Town.
Today, the sleepy hamlet of Hosmer boasts a scattered population of about 300 people who enjoy rural
living at its best in an alpine setting with clean air and water and lots of peace and quiet.

The Fan House at Morrisey
Limited Edition of 500 11x14 prints: $15.00 each + $3.00 Shipping
This structure, constructed at the turn of the Century, housed a huge fan which served to ventilate the Morrisey coal mine. Today, it is still standing, but time has taken its' toll on this interesting wood and stone structure.
The hamlet of Morrissey (near Fernie, BC) still exists today with about 100 residents.
The evidence of its' coal mining days is fast disappearing, although the coke ovens still remain in a somewhat dilapidated condition. Indeed, Mother Nature appears to have won its' battle with industry and progress, at least in this case.....
